SUMMARY

Prometric is seeking a highly motivated, strong leader to manage all Database Administrator Engineers and database functions across the global business. The engineering functions include our database server infrastructure supporting clients and candidates around the globe.

The candidate will have vast experience supporting a 24X7 operational model, not only for top-level support, but designing and implementing world-class architecture in support of our entire business model. The candidate will be responsible for managing all database costs associated with our Data Center and cloud infrastructure.

Databases are located throughout the world. The candidate will be responsible for making sure all database servers are compliant with current patching as well as a planning disaster recovery processes to make sure systems are available 100% of the time. Database backups will be key as well.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to manage a global team with employees in Ireland, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, India and the US
• Manage resources for database deployments to multiple environments.
• Manage and own production related issues through to the end and document best practices
• Drive the team to create state of the art database architectures
• Manage all database backups in all environments
• Manage system availability and maintain maximum database on time
• Manage expense and capital budgets for supporting all systems
• Track and manage budgets for all support agreements for database licensing
• Review architectural designs and lead team for final solutions
• Provide operational and project based planning and budgeting
• Lead engineering teams in support of 24X7 operations
• Provide clear and concise communication to business; including procedural documentation, communication of new projects, and escalations from the remainder of the business

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Four-year degree required; masters preferred
• Strong background in Microsoft SQL Server architecture
• Expertise in Oracle database structure
• Familiar with cloud database architecture
• Familiar with non-SQL database architecture
• Data centre and cloud requirements, planning, support and operations
• SAN/NAS storage concepts
• Virtualization technologies to include VMWare
• Expertise in Windows systems and active directory operations
• US Candidates: Obtain background screening in support of FISMA compliancy
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to lead large, global, cross functional teams on project based solutions
• Highly organized to support multiple projects, functional areas, and ongoing support
