SUMMARY:
Effectively plans and coordinates manufacturing processes in industrial plant by developing programs and/or methods to optimize producibility and reduce cycle time, manufacturing losses and overall costs. Provides internal support for New Product Development. This position is accountable for ensuring that all Manufacturing Engineering activities comply with Company goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, review and revise manufacturing procedures and practices to ensure effective new product development.
Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Confer with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
Review products and processes for cost improvement opportunities.
Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arranges for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
Estimate production times, staffing and equipment requirements, and related costs to provide information for customer quotations.
Provide customer design support for new product development; will prepare drawings and design capabilities analysis.
Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Prepares monthly reports as required.
Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises employees in the Manufacturing Engineering Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to use sound Engineering judgment, manufacturing experience, and creative thinking to solve complex manufacturing problems. Ability to communicate technical information either verbally or when required by developing standard operating procedures. Ability to work effectively with company personnel at all levels. Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook) and AutoCAD experience required Ability to read and interpret blueprint and written specifications.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field from a four-year college or university; and eight (8) years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of two years supervisory experience.
Due to the nature of our Defense contracts verification of U.S. Citizenship is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
