As the Manager of Community Based Services you will represent the YWCA of Central Massachusetts, its mission and vision to the general public and professional groups and individuals. You will be responsible for the overall management of Community Based Services in the Greater Worcester and North Central Massachusetts offices as well as the police and court-based advocacy programs (WIN and SAFEPLAN). You will be in charge of expanding Domestic Violence Programs outreach into the community and building the bridges that are necessary to ensure the mission; creating a seamless web of support through training, education and collaboration for victims and survivors of domestic violence; managing the effective operation of programs and staff, and for providing crisis counseling and service management for program participants. This position will also facilitate and manage the Domestic Violence High Risk Teams and other community .


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Facilitate and manage the Domestic Violence High Risk Teams in coordination with Director
  • Plan and facilitate creative activities, programs, and interactions for professionals, youth, men and others that focus on gender stereotypes and differences, boundaries, socialization, and character development
  • Establish and maintain relationships with schools, community agencies, and faith-based organizations for collaboration purposes and for facilitation of community education in their realms
  • Provide supervision to Community-Based Services, both in Greater Worcester and in North Central Massachusetts, and Court/Police Advocates
  • Oversee all of community intervention services, including support groups and individual advocacy for program participants
  • Supervise interns/volunteers providing leadership, direction, and meaningful experiences
  • Effectively help manage and allocate the budget
  • Provide case review groups for Community Based Services Advocates to participate in
  • Manage and grow program scope
  • Assist Director in implementing a speaker’s bureau team comprised of dynamic volunteers who can speak on a number of domestic violence topics in an effort to heighten awareness that creates a stronger, healthier and more informed community
  • Manage and maintain all presentation and training PowerPoint documents; ensuring uniformity, style, and communication guidelines are met
  • Supervise graduate level interns, specifically MSW students
  • Provide empowerment advocacy and safety planning
  • Assist with referrals
  • Maintain documentation and report statistical measurements
  • Participate in agency staff meetings and trainings
  • With Director, recruit, hire, and evaluates staff based on established criteria
  • Train, manage and provide performance feedback for all staff to Director
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by Director
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, License and LCSW required.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience working in the domestic violence field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a lead position
  • Experience working with diverse populations, such as all communities of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and individuals with disabilities.
  • Bi-lingual Bi-cultural preferred
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and multi task
  • Ability and liking for public speaking
  • Ability to engage youth
  • Ability to advocate on behalf of victims
  • Professional demeanor
