Summary

Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining appropriate standards for the department through coordination and management of personnel and resources. Manages clerical function, including 24 x 7 operations, as it relates to the Emergency Department, Outpatient Ancillary Services, Inpatient Admissions, and Patient Access.
Job Responsibilities
  • Uses sound business judgment and management strategies to maintain and improve quality; ensures appropriate scheduling of procedures and collection of information for billing purposes.
  • Directs, coordinates, communicates, and implements the policies and goals for the Patient Access department in support of organizational strategic objectives and planning.
  • Meets established financial goals.
  • Assists with developing specific department goals, standards, and objectives which directly supports the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
  • Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
  • Directs and manages assigned staff in the pursuit of goals and objectives.
  • Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, and payroll.
  • Monitors department budgets, regulatory compliance, department contracts, and vendor relations.
  • Determines and justifies needs for systems, equipment, supply purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
  • Initiates and coordinates research; analyzes data to ensure quality and productivity are keeping with industry and institutional standards.
  • Responsible for Access Readiness Admission-Discharge Transfer (ADT) applications.
  • Supports special projects and business analysis as requested.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration required upon hire OR
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in related field required upon hire
  • A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • A minimum of 4 years' relevant experience required
  • No licensure/certification/registration required
