Position Summary:
The Manager of Parent and Volunteer Services will be responsible for soliciting and documenting In-Kind Contributions, recruiting and managing community volunteers, overseeing parent activities and volunteers, and other community support services for the Head Start, Early Head Start, and the AVANCE Core Programs.
Job Function:
- Assists in the preparation and administration of parent education and engagement activities to ensure that outreach services meet established objectives, specifically with the Parent, Fatherhood and Attendance committees.
- Organizes and coordinates the production and printing of the parent newsletter. Including, but not limited to, soliciting and editing appropriate newsletter submissions and ensuring that production deadlines are met.
- Participates in the program enrollment process and manages a caseload, as needed.
- Works in collaboration with leadership staff to coordinate orientation, training, monitoring and supervision of volunteers.
- Develops and implements goals and objectives for the volunteer component which reflect the mission of the organization.
- Identifies assignments that provide meaningful work for volunteers.
- Develops and administers forms and records to document volunteer and parent activities.
- Prepares monthly and annual reports on the contributions of the volunteer and parent activities.
- Monitors individual components to ensure each is collecting and reporting their assigned share of the non-federal matching funds (In-Kind) contributions.
- Collaborates with other Head Start Grantees to solicit donations, as well as cultivate an effectual working relationship with similar counterparts.
- Assists in developing systems for disseminating information to all staff regarding established protocols for soliciting donations, recruiting volunteers and coordinating parent activities.
- Identifies contacts and works closely with community service providers and private businesses for the purpose of soliciting In-Kind contributions and to provide support for the provision of program services.
- Promotes the AVANCE Head Start program by developing a positive working relationship with the public and business sector including participating in committees, community efforts and other types of networking and collaboration activities.
- Provides support, as needed, to the Support Service components.
- Must be able to travel for business related activities.
- Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance in compliance with AVANCE-Houston policies and/or procedures, local, state, and federal laws
- Performs other duties as assigned.
