Description & Requirements

This role ensures effective implementation and execution of the various new product development (NPD) projects for Agile Disruptive Innovation Pod and BU commercialization projects. (Double digit growth for the organization long term). This individual will develop new ways of working using Agile methodology. The position provides visible quality leadership during the commercialization of new products at new and existing external manufacturing sites. In this role- the individual will work closely with project teams to ensure compliance to KHC quality and food safety standards from Feasibility stage through product launch through post launch reviews. Average Travel required up to 30%.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Be a part of the broader technical team commercialization programs like: ProjectNow- STAR- Technical Feasibility Scans- HACCP etc.

  • Lead the partnership with cross-functional teams for the delivery of key Innovation from concept to execution.

  • Engage Procurement and Business partners to align on overall annual business goals for category and consumer.

  • Monitor initial consumer feedback regarding new product launch until hand off.

  • Coordinate post launch review including 30/60/90-day review for new product launches.

  • Work with Food Safety team to conduct food safety and spoilage risk assessments for new products.

  • Collaborate with Core EM team members to review Co-Pack Programs- GMPs- Allergen Management- Lab and Analytical support- etc. for Platinum Rules Compliance and support the New Site Approval process.

  • Ensure compliance of Kraft Heinz Quality Safety Policies (QSPs) and Platinum Rules/Golden Rules

  • Work with Co-packers on implementing Platinum rule action plans and submit exceptions to support Business critical project timelines.

  • Other duties/ projects as assigned.

  • Proficiency:

    • HACCP Compliance and Execution

    • Compliance with KHC and FSMA Requirements

    • Weight Control Ongoing Execution and Compliance

    • Regulatory or 3rd Party Audit Support

    • Factory- EM or Supplier Assessment (e.g.- QRMP- Platinum/Golden Rules) or Audit Support

  • Support to category and communication:

    • Special Situations Investigations- On-Site Factory Assessments (Boots on the ground)

    • Communication/Issue Escalation to Quality Leadership or Key Shared Stakeholders (e.g.- Risk Management)

    • Supplier Quality-Non-Conforming Raw Material Escalation and Support

Expected Experience & Required Skills

  • BS Degree in Food Science- Animal Science- Microbiology or other related field

  • Food safety and regulatory requirements

  • Supplier expectations in Food Safety- Regulatory and Quality

  • Fundamental statistics (DMAIC Process/DFSS/Lean/Metrology/MSA/Sampling Procedures)

  • 3-5 years of experience in food or CPG

  • Experience in plant and/or corporate quality

  • Experience in RDQI

  • Working knowledge of quality systems and policies- HACCP- and ISO/GFSI systems

  • Understanding of the procurement processes

Work Environment & Schedule

This position is considered a Normal office environment with moderate travel to customer locations- stores- manufacturing facilities- etc.; offices are open workspaces Additionally- this role requires typically first shift schedule but flexibility for travel schedules.

Physical Requirements:

Physical demands include but not limited to

  • Occasional – activity or condition sustained up to 1/3 of working hours; upright stance- keyboard or text input; sedentary – occasionally exerting 0-10 lbs. of force; limited movement from workstation for brief periods of time.

Office Collaboration & Hybrid Work Environment
