About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Engineering Manager to lead our Device Services team. This team is responsible for developing and maintaining a platform to enable critical customer experiences across the device lifecycle for our complete device portfolio. Our devices are the core of our product, and we strive to provide customers a world-class device management experience. This role requires a strong understanding of software engineering best practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a team of talented engineers. You will also drive the development and integration of new frameworks across a wide range of engineering teams.

In this role, you will:
- Lead and manage a team of full-stack engineers to develop, maintain and enhance the device lifecycle frameworks and services for our products.
- Drive the development of new features and enhancements through collaboration with cross-functional teams including product management, design, and backend engineering.
- Manage development processes, including code reviews, continuous integration, and deployment, to ensure high-quality deliverables that meet project timelines.
- Mentor and coach team members to help them grow and develop their skills, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Collaborate with other engineering managers to align goals, standards, and processes across the organization.
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
- Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
- At least 7 years of relevant software engineering work experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in a management or leadership role, with a proven track record of managing teams and delivering successful projects.
- Experience building scalable, mission-critical SaaS applications.
An ideal candidate also has:
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
