Primary Function:
The Planning Manager will be part of the team responsible for managing the supply planning process for handsets for multiple clients or regions. This involves receiving a forecast, developing an inventory purchase plan, executing purchase decisions, balancing supply vs. demand to achieve target DOH, and reporting/ monitoring inventory levels while minimizing product obsolescence cost. SKU Count responsibility is > 1400, with Inventory responsibility on average $180-$220M.
The function will be the key leader in ensuring DOH targets are achieved, while setting appropriate Safety Stock targets, and ensuring our purchase plans optimize AEC. The position will act as the leader to provide readouts on CPFR, Long-Range Forecasts, BKO Risk and Inventory Metrics. The position will also ensure that the assigned client’s initiatives are integrated and executed in the planning tool.
This individual must have a successful track record of driving improvements across the supply chain and executing upon client initiatives.

Duties/Responsibilities:
For all assigned clients, analyze and develop an inventory purchase plan, based on key inputs -Claims Forecast, Inventory DOH, Purchase Orders, Replacement Matrix, Safety Stock targets - that is updated every 1-2 weeks for >1400 SKU’s.- Interact daily/weekly with Channel Management and other internal stakeholders to be the voice of Planning to provide readouts and updates on Backorder Risk, Inventory DOH / $, and to respond to Ad Hoc requests for data and analysis.
- Interact with internal partners to review inventory levels, determine appropriate stock positions and communicate purchase needs for handsets internally and externally. Ensure required fulfillment need is met with a carefully balanced mixture of refurbished, purchased, or new devices
- Work to eliminate or reduce E&O exposure.
- Participate in CPFR and Long-Range Forecast processes to perform analysis and to be the voice of Planning to provide readouts to internal stakeholders and leaders.
- Devise Supply Chain Planning strategy and collaborate with Finance/Procurement/ and Channel Management to develop both long and short-term operating plans for assigned client(s)
- Lead and drive improvement across the short, medium and long-term supply planning activities:
- Identify, react to and/or mitigate daily issues.
- Report various Supply Chain related metrics, and drive improvement to ensure targets are met / exceeded.
- Evaluate current processes for opportunities to refine, automate, streamline to gain efficiencies in effort and time expended.
- Lead one Sr. Analyst ensuring team member receives effective guidance, development, support and motivation.
- Lead and influence in a highly matrixed environment and interact with functional teams such as Procurement, Supplier Management, Channel Management, Finance, and Operations.
- Support other Planning teams / functions through collaboration and teamwork.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements:
4-5 years of related supply chain experience, preferably in a Supply or Demand Planning role
- B.A. or B.S. in Supply Chain Management, Business, or another related field
- Excellent communication, presentation, analytical and organizational skills. Able to influence at multiple levels of the organization
- Proven self-starter; proactive
- Technically proficient with various business software programs (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SQL, etc.)
- Ability to research and develop a clear understanding of all processes and procedures related to Supply Chain Management
