Job description

York Repair, an established company in Bay City, MI, is looking to hire a full-time machinist who has ample experience in manual machining, along with CNC, grinding, and welding experience. This individual should be competent in machinery such as lathes, milling machines, drills, boring mills and grinders as well as be familiar with welding practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Follows written work instructions and EASA accreditation guidelines.
• Performs milling operation (e.g. drilling, tapping, boring, etc.).
• Performs lathe work, especially on manual lathes (e.g. turning, boring, threading, and reaming).
• Performs tool-post grinding operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal applicants will possess a high school diploma plus 3+ years of experience in a variety of machine tool technology and/or education.

SPECIAL SKILLS

• Mechanical aptitude and excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Proficient with a variety of shop tools, especially micrometers.
• Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job-related training and operational and safety procedures.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Ability to lift 50lbs and adequately carry out a range of physical labor.

Please note: Selected applicants will be required to successfully complete a drug screen, physical examination, and background check.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
