Pioneer Machine, Inc. in Albion is seeking a manual machinist/fabricator with the capacity and willingness to learn in a friendly work environment that rewards dedication.

Willing to train the right candidate, but previous relevant work-experience with manual machining, hydraulic repairs, and/or welding is preferred. Must have a strong mechanical aptitude, with the ability to solve routine shop math problems. Candidates must have a high level of attention to detail with a strong integrity and work ethic. Candidates must be reliable, focused, and dedicated with a positive, team-oriented attitude. Must have the ability to take instructions with capacity to work as part of a team or independently.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

· Setup and operate manual milling and lathe machines

· Assemble, repair, and/or fabricate metal parts

· Capable of reading and understanding micrometers, Vernier calipers, height and depth gages

· Make necessary calculations, understand dimensions and tolerances

· Read work orders, blueprints, sketches, drawings, customer specifications written or verbal, or sample parts to produce quality work with tight tolerances

· Work under moderate supervision

· Reliable, dependable, and on-time

· Strong integrity and work ethic

Physical requirements and work environment:

· Work involves almost constant exposure to dirt, dust, and/or loud noises

· Personal protective equipment such as earplugs and glasses are required and provided

· Steel-toed shoes required but are not provided

· Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work - lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 lbs; standing nearly all day

· Work includes the need for finger dexterity, manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination.
