Overview:
By Light is hiring for a Manual Tester on the Department of Veterans Affairs MHV Team.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with members of the development team to drive QA efforts.
- Review requirements to identify and assess test risks. Provide input to the estimation process.
- Create Test Plans, Test Scenarios and Test Cases.
- Map Test Cases to Requirements and Test Plans.
- Identify test data needs. Stage test data by writing and executing SQL queries.
- Execute manual tests for new features, functionalities and defect fixes under varying different circumstances.
- Evaluate and document test results.
- Detect, log and report program defects and glitches.
- Perform smoke and regression testing.
- Perform 508 Compliance testing.
- Identify, discuss and review test case candidates for automation.
- Run automated test jobs. Analyze results of automated tests
- Convert existing functional and regression test cases into automated test scripts.
- Create new and maintain existing automated test scripts.
- Execute automated tests. Analyze results of automated test jobs run on CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
- Utilize API Testing tools like SOAPUI and Postman in collaboration with test automation engineers.
- Attend Scrum, Requirements, Design, and Demo meetings.
- Attend and perform testing during Production releases outside of normal business hours.
- Conduct post-release and/or post-implementation testing.
- 5+ years of experience as a Manual QA Engineer on web applications.
- Knowledge of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle and associated methodologies.
- Knowledge and experience in 508 Compliance Testing.
- Experience in all Functional Testing methodologies. Regression Testing, Exploratory/Ad-hoc, Domain/Function Testing, Risk-Based Testing, Scenario-based Testing etc.
- Experience creating Test Plans, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, and Bug Reporting.
- Experience mapping Test Cases to Requirements and Test Plans.
- Knowledge and experience with SQL. Ability to write new and modify existing queries.
- Experience testing web applications on mobile devices (Android / iOS).
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Experience supporting Veterans Administration technologies is a plus
- Ability to obatin Public Trust is required
