What will you do

The Manufacturing Operator - Upstream is responsible for efficiently performing all activities necessary for or related to the control, operation and light maintenance of manufacturing equipment under a compliance atmosphere. Perform manufacturing activities in Granulation, Compression and/or Rotor which determine purity, effectiveness and integrity of the manufactured product.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate machines and process equipment following all instructions and precautions for quality, safety and environmental establish to meet the expectations of quality, safety, environmental and production plan of the shift.
• Make adjustments, changes and cleaning of equipment and/or work stations (including rooms sanitization) according to operational procedures in the area to support production activities and meeting with EHS procedure to prevent spills and the increasing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste generation.
• Document operating, cleaning and maintenance processes in their official documents or computerized systems (logs, records, etc.) as the established procedures and records noting compliance with the Good Manufacturing Practices established.
• Maintain assigned areas clean, tidy and safe to follow safety and environmental procedures, rules, and regulations and with the good manufacturing practices.
• Takes samples of the product during processing, according operational procedures. Perform process testing as established in the batch record to ensure that meets the product acceptance parameters.
• Transport processing material from one location to another at each process step using a forklift or hand jack, following safety procedures, rules and regulations.
• Collect data and support the generation of reports including technical evaluations and recommendations related to the operation, including but not limited to: performance, waste, downtimes, OEE, safety, quality, etc.
• Support the PSM Program (“Process Safety Management”) and their elements as it is required by their supervisor.

What we are looking for

Education

• High school graduate.

Required Qualifications

• At least two (2) years or more experience in pharmaceutical industry.
• Ability to read and understand English and Spanish. Basic communication in English / Spanish.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems.
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, divide decimals and percents (approval consideration).
• Willing to travel outside of Puerto Rico, availability to work overtime, providing support other areas, providing support operation 7 days working shift arrangements may include special weekend, according to business strategies.

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge of cGMPs.
• Forklift driver’s license.
