Curries (an ASSA ABLOY company) is expanding our Engineering Team. This role will be based on-site at our manufacturing facility located in Mason City, Iowa.

What would you do as our Manufacturing Process Engineer?

As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will be responsible for helping to design and implement systems and procedures to ensure efficiency, cost effectiveness, productivity, capabilities, and sustainability all with safety in mind.

You would also:

  • Identify, propose, and implement process refinements, enhancements, and continuous improvements to streamline the manufacturing process and improve overall efficiencies
  • Ensure compliance and perform all duties in accordance with all safety and environmental rules and regulations, including ISO14001 procedures
  • Research and analyze materials, tools, fixtures, and processes required to manufacture product in the most efficient manner
  • Identify cost savings opportunities involving labor, direct and indirect materials, etc.
  • Develop, design and document projects for tools, fixtures, and production aids to improve manufacturing efficiencies
  • Design manufacturing cell layouts to remove bottlenecks, improve throughput, etc.
  • Apply lean fundamentals and tools to plan line balancing, standard work, product family assignment, work content timing, cell layout, material flow efficiency, continuous flow optimization and equipment utilization
  • Conduct lean initiatives and Kaizen events
  • Identify and drive improvements in productivity, yield, scrap, rework, and down time to achieve operational objectives
  • Perform special assignments and projects as assigned
  • Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees
  • Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct

The Skills and Experience you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial disciplines preferred) or a related field, preferred
  • 2 to 5 years of direct work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency using AutoCAD or SolidWorks required
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and Lean principles
  • Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, follow-up and a high comfort level balancing multiple priorities or projects simultaneously
  • Must excel working in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience/exposure working within Metal Fabrication, Hollow Metal, Door or Building Materials industries are highly desirable
