Manufacturing Process Engineer
Job description
The Process Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing injection molding processes, systems and optimizing equipment (OEE). The position will be responsible for establishing processes, monitoring, define optimal molding process for products and training technical teams on achieving results. The Process Technicians will report to the Process Engineer. The Process Engineer will report to the Plant Manager.
Requirements
· Excellent injection molding skills - large tonnage.
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience in Manufacturing Engineering / Industrial Engineering.
· Familiar with various injection molding controllers, to include Milacron.
· Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the plastics injection molding industry, with hands
on experience.
· Minimum 1 year experience 8D problem solving resolution.
· Familiar with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements.
· Familiar with industrial safety standards.
· Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, confident, self-directed.
· Advanced plastics processing.
· Tooling experience.
· Familiar with injection molding machinery and automation.
· Familiar with various engineered resins.
Job Responsibilities
· Optimize success of daily production results.
· Assist quality and manufacturing on any customer concerns.
· Establish manufacturing process for new tooling.
· Perform D.O.E. and capability studies to root cause and troubleshoot potential quality concerns.
· Advise on tooling, process, or machine correction
to give manufacturing maximum processing parameters.
· Update and improve existing machine technology.
· Review tool drawings on future programs to insure manufacturing feasibility.
· Recommend gating design, advise on material
selection for new programs.
· Provide an atmosphere that encourages every employee to achieve their full potential and pride in workmanship.
· Support and maintain procedures of the QMS.
· Assist manufacturing in the launch of new programs, or the sampling of new materials or equipment.
· Analyze daily audit reports and scrap rate reports
to target improvements.
· Participate in continuous improvement training program.
· Follows all safety, housekeeping, and company policies and procedures
· Manage Process Technicians and delegate daily tasks.
