Safety Management Systems, a division of Acadian Companies, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Maritime HSE Coordinator. This is an office-based position in Houston, Tx.

This position will provide overall administration, technical guidance, and leadership in complying, interpreting and implementing all regulatory requirements regarding Safety. The consultant will also develop and implement Health, Safety & Security policies and procedures in compliance with group, local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.

• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the HSE field.
• A college degree is preferred.
• Broad experience in health & safety in an offshore marine environment is critical.
• A proven record implementing various policies and procedures that have resulted in reducing safety incidents in the workplace is ideal.
• Candidates should possess strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written.
• Presentation skills are required. This position also requires strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Candidates should also possess the ability to plan and manage work in an efficient manner and to work well under stress/time pressures.
• Candidate must be willing to travel.
