Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) Warehouse group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Material Controller.

This team works an on-site 4x10 schedule located at MFC with every Friday off.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage the inventory, and complete shipping and receiving duties to achieve the MFC mission.
  • Manage min/max amounts of inventory with coordination from the end user as well as track stocking levels and reorder with procurement, track scheduled deliveries complete put-a-ways in a timely manner.
  • Ensure physical inventory is reconciled with the inventory system as well as maintain accurate and updated information on the Catalog IDs.
  • Receive freight and coordinate needed shipments with customers.
  • Complete most assignments using Asset Suite.
  • Work with coworkers and customers in a helping and professional manner.
  • Keep current on all aspects of the Material Helper and Material Handler.
  • Work with customers and resolve complex issues as they arise.
  • Duties in stock room and shipping and receiving including but not limited to inventory management, unloading freight and compressed gas cylinders, checking material against freight bills for count, accuracy, and damage as well as reconciling material against purchase orders, and operating a computer terminal for data entry and retrieval
  • Operate cars, pickups and forklifts up to 10-ton capacity, to load, unload and distribute material to locations on and off the INL as required.
  • Maintain stockroom spare parts, and shipping receiving areas in a neat, safe, and orderly manner.
  • Participate in training / retraining programs required by the INL and Logistics and Property Management Department.
  • Provide direction and training for daily activities of stock room receipt and issue activities involving handlers and helpers.
QUALIFICATIONS


Minimum Requirements:

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance and Human Reliability Program (HRP), which requires US Citizenship.
  • Must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in inventory and warehouse management and complete the organizational Material Controller training checklist within 2 years.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience using inventory control software
  • Minimum of 5 years of forklift operations experience, using indoor and outdoor counterbalance style forklift.
  • Valid Idaho Driver's license.
  • Must be capable of attaining INL forklift operator qualification.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of inventory management practices.
  • Considerable skill in computer operation is required, includes, but is not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Asset Suite.
  • Advanced skills in oral and written communication and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
  • Excellent problem solving and relationship building skills with vendors and project personnel contacts on parts and material research.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience using Asset Suite.

Job Information

  • Hourly wage: $36.04/hr (Rates can vary based upon individual work location, clearances, and qualifications. Rates are accurate for current posting and subject to change. These are bargaining unit positions.)
