Alliant Energy would like you to bring your #energy to join our team as an Apprentice or Journey level Material Handler/Driver in Ames, Iowa. We are looking for a self-starter who is organized and would enjoy the opportunity to learn about the utility industry while helping best serve our customers.
As a Material Handler/Driver you will receive, unload and stock incoming materials to help support our Material Coordinators. This position requires a CDL as the person in this role will also be delivering and distributing materials to other facilities and job sites.

Location Ames with travel to support Marshalltown and other zones as needed during working hours.

Training Locations: Marshalltown, Cedar Rapids, Mason City, Grinnell and Washington.
What you will do
-
Receive, unload, and stock incoming materials.

Kit and stage materials.
-
Unload, disassemble, restock/recycle/scrap salvage materials.

Support material needs of crews.

Inventory materials (including operation of bar scanning/coding equipment).

Operate forklifts, banding equipment, shrink wrap equipment, foam packaging equipment, normal hand tools, and other handling equipment.

Shall perform similar and less skilled work as required.
Education Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent

This classification shall be required to hold a CDL and may operate vehicles that require the possession of a CDL (company policy regarding CDL applies to this classification).
