Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishment by performing the following duties.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reads customer order, shipping Pick List, Material Transfer order, or Bill of Lading to determine items to be moved, gathered, or shipped.
- Uses computer/tablet and scanner to enter records into DAX.
- Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code.
- Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms if required.
- Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or conveys orders to packing station.
- Marks materials with identifying information.
- Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed in DAX, on Pick lists, Transfer Orders, and Inter-Warehouse transfer forms.
- Compiles Pick Lists or Bills of Ladings from customer specifications, verifies documents for accuracy.
- Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse, plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
- Maintains inventory records.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed oral or written instructions.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems independently.
- High school diploma or GED preferred and up to one year of related experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office/Windows is required.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos via written and email/Outlook.
- Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to communicate with individuals and small groups.
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics.
- Must be able to successfully complete Griffith Laboratories Forklift certification.
- Must be able to successfully complete Shipping Training annually or as needed per the Alsip Plant Shipping Training Check List F62-03 AP-SH.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
