DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead Material Replenishment Purchasing activities to ensure material availability to support the production schedule
- Ensure timely, accurate receipt of materials into the facility and inventory systems
- Deliver high raw materials and component inventory accuracy
- Proactively plan the daily needs of the operation, and ensure SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and supplier commitments are met
- Drive optimization of raw material and work in process inventory
- Manage Vendor Capacity and Supply Continuity Management
- Plant representative and liaison with Divisional Purchasing providing input, guidance, and feedback relative to:
- Long term plant raw materials requirements
- Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP)
- Driving the development and maintenance of item master data , and replenishment parameters for all plant materials
- Developing, defining, and implementing standardized processes, tools, capabilities and measures across the Ply Gem Windows network
- In line with standards defined with Divisional Purchasing, enhance, document, and manage the local replenishment purchasing process
- Manage vendor capacity and material supply to ensure continuity of supply to support current and future demand. Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) management with Suppliers
- Lead the activities of the plant Purchasing department personnel
- Manage the Receiving operation
- Monitor, report and manage material flow vs. plant requirements
- Track, report, and manage vendor compliance
- Monitor, report and manage daily, weekly, monthly key metrics related to:
- Inventory Accuracy
- Cycle Count performance
- P.O. Compliance
- Excess and Obsolete
- Past Due POs
- Item Master Data
- Item Inventory Parameters
- Assist in evaluation and planning inventory levels, make-to-order versus stock and off-season inventory builds
- Material and Inventory Control Management
- Coordinate plant needs with corporate procurement and commodities management
- Provide daily management and direction to incoming inventory supervisors. This includes but is not limited to:
- Daily cycle counts
- Stock locations
- End of fiscal month/year inventory responsibilities
- Identify, track, and manage down excess and obsolete inventory
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with plant and corporate personnel to ensure effective communications are maintained
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Science or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP or CFPIM) preferred
- Minimum of five years of manufacturing scheduling experience required
- Effective analytical and communication skills required. Able to lead and influence in a group setting. Effective demonstrated skills with leading edge PC databases and spreadsheets required. Demonstrated skills with JD Edwards preferred
- Position requires light travel (approx. 5-10%)
