SUMMARY

Manager responsible for operation of department focused on functions that include procurement of materials, suppliers and subcontractors needed for operations of the organization, logistical operations for inbound and outbound freight, customer order management and manufacturing schedules. Develops and recommends to senior management purchasing policies for the organization. Manages the purchase of tools, raw material, services and supplies necessary for operation of an organization. Supervise the maintenance of records of purchased, delivery dates, suppliers, costs and other resources. Provides support to production scheduling of material flow issues. Managing procurement process to promote inventory levels that assure maximum turns. Manage the inventory and stockroom by administering cycle counts and recording the inventory accurately.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee the procurement of goods and services and manage supplier base in the aspect if selection, qualification and normal tactical and strategic operations. Identify purchasing requirements according to customer orders and production schedules to minimize inventory investments.

Work with drawings, specifications, supplier quotations, engineering standards and other information to provide an accurate cost proposal.

Secure the best possible material and subcontracting costs by shopping and comparing prices.

Work closely with Outside Sales, Operations, Engineering, Quality and Finance Departments and Senior Management.

Review inbound and outbound carriers for the most effective manner of logistics.

Insure customer order acknowledgement process is followed for all external customers.

Perform additional responsibilities, as directed.

Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

BS/BA degree in manufacturing related disciplines or the equivalent in combined education and experience.

Full understanding of MRP, BOM structures, routings, and inventory strategies.

Experience in warehousing management, receiving and shipping and production planning.

Good computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.

Excellent communication skills, including written and oral, and good organizational skills.

Ability to work on multiple projects at one time.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for an office and manufacturing environment. Work may require local travel. Work may require evening and weekend work.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
