POSITION OVERVIEW
SWISHER has been synonymous with quality cigars and tobacco products since 1861. From our modest beginnings the company has grown to be the largest, privately owned, cigar manufacturer in the world today. Headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, we manufacture and market a broad range of highly recognized brands of cigars and other tobacco products.
This is a 2nd shift - 3:00pm-11:30pm
The MBT Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and management of a team of employees directly responsible for the manufacturing of the cigar binders. In this role, you will work directly with the union team members to ensure that production goals are met while not compromising the safe work environment that Swisher is known for.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor employee production and assign job tasks
- Manage and approve work hours for direct reports
- Ensure safe work practices are followed consistent with OHSA and Company practices
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Effectively manage Union employees and work flow to optimize productivity
- Pulp/Paper experience a plus
- Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance
- 2–3-year management experience or a college degree
- Able to perform in stressful situations with changing priorities
- Gathering facts and making decisions quickly
- Microsoft Office suite
- Web based reporting tools
- Mechanically inclined
- Possess good evaluation and troubleshooting skills
- Communicates well both written and verbally
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to stand/walk for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to reach above shoulders
- Must be able to work in an environment with varying ambient temperatures
