The Mechanical Craft Training Institute (MCTI), a non-profit organization founded in 2020 and located in Birmingham, AL, is searching for the right person to lead the organization either full or part-time. MCTI is dedicated to teaching HVAC, piping, plumbing, sheet metal and other mechanical crafts using the nationally recognized NCCER curriculum. Hardy Corporation is the sponsoring institution and partner of MCTI. Mechanical experience is not required for the Director Position.

Objectives:

  • Build a thriving workforce for the mechanical industry
  • Coordinate recruiting efforts to bring in new students
  • Manage day to day operations of MCTI
  • Identify and acquire skilled instructors for mechanical crafts
  • Forecast class schedules and sizes in order to focus recruiting efforts and prepare physical classroom space
  • Maintain budgets and assist in seeking grant opportunities
  • Understanding of grant funding and how to apply for grants
  • Knowledge of apprenticeships, co-ops, 501(c)3 non-profits, hiring credits, etc. preferred
  • Develop teachers and curricula for additional training opportunities
  • Manage the class schedule and recruiting pipeline
