We are a well established and family run school bus company seeking to build our team of mechanics. We are looking for a hard-working mechanic who's interested in growing their skillset in a fast-paced environment.

JOB Location: Spring Valley, NY

Qualifications:

• Proven ability to solve problems on-the-fly
• Capable of diagnosing minor electrical faults such as short-circuits, fuses, and bad connections
• Previous experience as a technician or fleet mechanic
• Proven ability to perform a preventative maintenance workup (brakes, tires, fluids, etc)
• Basic knowledge of all automotive systems including chassis, electrical, fluids, AC/Heat, drivetrain, engine

Responsibilities

• Responds to and troubleshoots in-the-yard and on-the-road breakdowns
• Performs preventative maintenance workups as assigned
• Monitors and maintains fluid levels and other consumables of assigned vehicles
• Responds to defects as reported by drivers
• Reports major mechanical issues to supervisor and follows-up as directed
• Assists with snow removal/salting

Requirements

• Posses a complete mechanic's toolset. Specialty tools will be provided
• Ability to work responsibly
• Good attitude and drive to solve problems
• This is a safety-sensitive position and requires a DOT pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check
• Have or be able to obtain a class B CDL with P and S endorsements.

Compensation

• $65k-$80k salary depending on experience
• Health insurance plan for single completely paid by company after 90 days of employment (included in salary range)

• 6:00 - 5:00 Monday-Thursday 6:00 - 4:00 Friday
