Mechanical Engineer

Ciao Wireless specializes in Low Noise and Medium Power Amplifiers & Subassemblies for Commercial, Defense and Hi-Rel applications. Designs are offered from 1 MHz to 50 GHz covering the various standard and specialty narrow and wide bands in-between. Ciao Wireless is hiring full-time Mechanical Engineer to work at its Camarillo, CA facility. Training is available for those persons with the patience and work ethic to learn should you have little or no experience.

General Purpose

Work in a collaborative team of Mechanical, RF, and Digital Engineers to design electro-mechanical subsystems for Defense and Aerospace applications. Responsibilities include mechanical packaging and layout, as well as analyses (thermal, structural, and reliability) of complex subsystems for high reliability applications. Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Provide direction to support personnel on prototype fabrication and packaging documentation.

Essential Duties

• Assisting in design, development, analysis and documentation of mechanical devices and/or systems

with mechanical parts for new and existing products.

• Conduct product testing and create models and prototypes.
• Investigate problems with machinery and suggest and implement solutions.
• Document work program (e.g., reports, drawings, IDF files, etc.).
• Network with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
• Interface with Manufacturing Engineers to ensure designs are highly manufacturable.
• Create full documentation packages and manage release process into company documentation system.
• Create and manage all aspects of mechanical BOMs.

Education/Experience

• BS Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3-5 years related experience preferred
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and ACAD
• Strong analytical skills related to heat transfer and vibrations
• Experience utilizing CAD tools such as SolidWorks Simulation or equivalent
• Good understanding of metal fabrication and finishing processes such as machining and plating
• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Well experienced with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface and clearly communicate with many different technical disciplines.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain DOD security clearance
• Excellent communication skills with ability to interact with various departments
• Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
• Detail oriented skills are a must
