Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship

We are now seeking applications for the following position in our Bailieborough site Co. Cavan

As an Engineering Apprentice, you will be required to embark upon a four-year Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting Apprenticeship combining academic study with practical work experience to attain the qualification.

The apprenticeship is a 4 year programme consisting of 7 phases. 4 on-the-job and 3 off-the-job in a training facility. Throughout the 4 year programme support, guidance and direction will be given by an experience maintenance person and you will be expected to become a valuable member of the wider Engineering team undertaking reactive and preventative maintenance tasks to maximise equipment availability.

The Individual

• Applicants should be seeking a long-term career in engineering and ideally display good mechanical aptitude through previous relevant work experience or personal interest/hobbies.

• Communication skills are essential and the successful applicant will have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and can build good working relationships to ensure they collaborate effectively both within the engineering team and with colleagues at all levels throughout the site.

• Computer skills and the ability to pick up, navigate and understand new systems and processes easily are essential. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will be an excellent multi-tasker, have the ability to use their own initiative and adopt a proactive approach to solve problems logically and effectively.
