J. Cumby Construction is a fully licensed general contractor based in Cookeville, Tennessee. We specialize in water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, commercial, and industrial types of construction.

Responsibilities and Duties

Applicants MUST have experience laying ductile iron/mechanical joint pipe with a Heavy Civil WWTP General Contractor

Assemble, install and repair underground pipefittings and valves of various materials and sizes for storm drains or sanitation sewers, and water mains.

Move pipe, equipment, and machines using hoists, dollies, rollers and hand trucks.

Assemble and install piping systems such as ductile iron, PVC, steel and mechanical joint pipe.

Install equipment such as pumps, valves, generators, tanks, motors, shafting, conveyors and rail systems.

Set and check anchor bolts, imbeds and fastening devices before concrete placements.

Set-up and use pipe lasers and transits to position pipe and fittings in trenches

Measure, cut and leak test pipes

Job site safety knowledge

Check equipment to ensure proper working conditions.

The ideal candidate would have prior trench safety and rigging/signaling training, as well as experience with ductile, steel and PVC pipe.

REQUIREMENTS: ALL Applicants must be:

18 years of Age

Must have own transportation to and from jobsite every work day (driver's license not required)

May be expected to travel where the project requires (multi-state opportunities)
