Burns & McDonnell's Water Global Practice in Mumbai India is seeking to hire Mechanical Static Equipment Engineer to support internationally renowned projects in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries. The Engineer will have the opportunity to gain experience through mentorship and develop the necessary technical skillsets to become a subject matter expert to design static equipment such as Pressure Vessels, Tall Columns, Storage Tanks and Heat Exchangers. Additional daily tasks will include the following:

• Prepare the designs, technical bid & purchase documents based on process datasheets, client specifications, and on the industrial codes and standards.
• Develop mechanical strength calculations, datasheets preparation, writing technical specifications.
• Select the packaged equipment such as Cooling towers, Wastewater treatment Unit, Chillers, Chemical injection systems, Nitrogen generation units etc.
• Assist in the review of vendor equipment bids and prepare technical bid evaluations.
• Equipment design / selection in accordance with international codes and standards
• Collaborate with Process, Layout, Piping, Civil, Structural & Architectural, Electrical, and Instrumentation & Control disciplines.
• Review and approve manufacturers' drawings and documents. Collaborate with equipment manufacturers, Inspection engineers and plant site construction team.
• Evaluation of technical bids from equipment manufacturers.

Qualifications

• B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering. The candidate should have a work experience of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
• A strong grasp in the international codes related to the field is required, such as in ASME B&PV code, API 650, API 620, API660, TEMA etc.
• Sound knowledge of material standards, inspection requirements and testing requirements including NDE.
• A strong understanding in strength calculations, mechanical datasheets preparation, technical specs, enquiry requisition preparation, technical bid evaluation, purchase requisition writing and vendor documents review is required.
• The basic understanding to select rotating equipment like pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, agitators and their respective drives and auxiliaries.
• Required to have strong communication skills to successfully interface and coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines to meet project design requirements and effectively manage the internal flow of data and design changes.
• Required to have the leadership qualities to mentor more junior engineers and lead team meetings.
• Proficiency in English language is required.
