The Media Systems Administrator oversees access to, management of, and archiving of all media across all projects. A great attitude, excellent communication skills, and innovative thinking are a high priority.

OVERVIEW:

The Media Systems Administrator is responsible for overseeing all functionality of Jupiter Entertainment’s Nexis Shared storage, including but not limited to:

  • The proper creation, naming, oversight of all partitions

  • Nexis user creation and partition assignments

  • Nexis nearline and archiving

  • Nexis shared music drives

  • Ensuring partitions remain within stated size and file count limits

ADDITIONAL DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Consistent communication with post and tech teams

  • Weekly Nexis updates communicated to upper management

  • Review shared storage workflows and server moves with tech team

  • Oversee LTO backups for OL and source footage

  • Continue to review workflows to find ways to increase efficiency and resilience

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Organization

  • Communication

  • One year of media management experience

  • Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities

  • Multitasking

  • Proactive problem-solving

  • Time management

  • Tech or assistant editor background preferred

  • Unscripted television experience preferred

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Avid Media Composer and Nexis Client

  • Nexis Management Console

  • Microsoft Office and Teams

  • Experience with Spectralogic, Storage DNA, and/or other LTO systems preferred

  • Experience with CatDV strongly preferred

Qualifications

  • Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime on as-needed basis, with short-notice

  • Ability to work department hours of 9:00 am – 6:00 pm Monday through Friday


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • Ability to assist in occasional moving of equipment of appx 25 lbs.
