Medicaid Analyst II

About the role:

How you will contribute:

  • Key tasks for this position include end-to-end Medicaid Drug Rebate process which includes validating, verifying, disputing when necessary, and remitting payment for all state Medicaid agencies, SPAPs and Supplemental Rebates.

  • Validating utilization trends against prescribing methods, generic substitution, and eligible payors.

  • Ensuring payments are submitted within aggressive deadlines.

  • Responsible for the Medicaid Drug Rebate process which includes:

    • Validating utilization trends against prescribing methods, generic substitution, and eligible payors.

    • Disputing claims that fail validation review

    • Submit claims for payment

    • Remitting payment within short timelines

  • Responsible for coordinating payment approval with Contracts & Pricing (C&P) management, Finance and Accounts Payable.

  • Responsible for negotiating dispute resolutions with state personnel ensuring. accurate and efficient documentation of payments and presents to C&P management.

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all state mandated due dates and avoiding interest penalties.

  • Responsible for updating and keeping Manager of Medicaid Rebates informed of changes to state programs and drug placement.

  • Responsible for system updates regarding supplemental contracts

  • Performs a variety of ad hoc reporting related to Medicaid Rebates contracts.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years of business experience or 4+ year’s experience in the area of accounting/finance or rebate processing

  • Effectively manage multiple priorities in order to maximize results. Pays close attention to project deadlines and schedules.

  • Health care business acumen with a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry

  • Experience with Flex MRB

  • Must be able to review large amount of data for accuracy.

  • Ability to present complex information clearly and with confidence

  • Embraces and demonstrates a diversity and inclusion mindset and role models these behaviors for the organization

  • Broad decision-making responsibilities:

    • Accountable for decision making for designated function

    • Ability to seek diverse input from multiple constituents and stakeholders to drive innovative solutions

    • Ability to incorporate feedback and ensure decisions are made swiftly to yield flawless execution

  • Accountable for designing and implementing vision and strategy for designated scope

  • Ability to build strong partnerships and drive role clarity with other interfacing Takeda functions, including but not limited to Commercial Team (Contracts, Rebates, Chargebacks), IT, Internal Audit, Compliance, and Shared Services

  • Comfortable challenging the status quo and bringing forward innovative solutions

  • Ability to identify areas for process and systems innovation and implement change that will enhance the overall effectiveness of the team.

  • Ability to work in a global and highly matrixed ecosystem (internal and external) with a high degree of complexity

  • Responsible for meeting all deadlines in incorporating newly acquired companies/products
