Job Summary and Qualifications
Learn to become a Medical Assistant while being paid for your time in the clinic setting. Exciting opportunity to join the nation's largest provider of healthcare services while studying to become a Medical Assistant through our partnership with Arapahoe Community College.
HealthONE is proud to invest and support an “earn while you learn” Medical Assistant Apprenticeship program. Developed in collaboration with the trusted community college network and workforce center partners, this 6 month program helps caring, compassionate, service-oriented people become skilled caregivers and receive priority consideration for open Medical Assistant positions within HealthONE. There is no experience required to participate in this exciting program!
Please Note: Applicants must also apply for admission to Arapahoe Community College to participate in apprenticeship program, which begins August 25, 2023.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program is a six-month program that prepares students to take the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) test through the National Healthcareer Association. Apprentices will train within the practice setting 4 days a week and attend ACC courses 1 day. The Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program is a competency-based program that will prepare you to become a Medical Assistant to perform such tasks as:
- Takes patient histories and vital signs.
- Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
- Gives injections, and applies casts, splints, and dressings, as applicable.
- Prepares and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
- Assists physician in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals.
- Variety of other duties within the practice setting.
