- Assumes a supportive role and has responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient.
- Promotes the optimal health, wellbeing and safety of the patient in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the delegation of medical services.
- Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship‐based care, organizational mission, and core values.
- Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic interventions including but not limited to vital signs, mini treatments/procedures, prevention services, pre‐visit planning and post‐visit follow up, medication refills per protocol for existing treatment plans and ensures patient flow through the clinic is efficient.
- Actively uses and incorporates the use of patient registry into practice to determine ongoing healthcare needs.
- Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in accurate, timely manner.
- Thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records including importing and communication of scanned documents.

- Successful completion of all Medical Assistant Core Skills, as well as additional competencies which are specialty specific, as defined within the Scope of Practice for CHPG Medical Assistants.
- Trade/Technical School, Medical Assisting Preferred
- Trade/Technical School, EMT Training Preferred
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant from recognized program preferred
- One year experience as a Medical Assistant or as an EMT preferred. Associates who have completed EMT training will need to complete required courses on pharmacology, provided by Centura Health Physician Group (CHPG) within 90 days.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers required
- High School diploma required
