Patient Concierge / Medical Front Office must have excellent organizational and administrative skills. Expected to be compassionate and discrete with superb time management and record keeping.
Our office uses dermatology management software, electronic medical records, and scanning equipment. Candidates must be comfortable utilizing computers (preferably Mac computers) and easily trainable in these software tools. Candidates should comfortably under pressure while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and can effectively react to patient emergencies.
Patient Concierge Responsibilities:
- Greet and attend to patients' requests and needs in person and over the phone in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Obtain and accurately record appropriate demographic, financial and/or referral information.
- Accurately complete necessary paperwork, including encounter forms.
- Competently utilize the computer system, including look up, accurate data entry, and generating information and/or reports as needed for billing or other purposes.
- Ensure patient information is current, ensure all necessary forms are completed, legibly and signed.
- Collect copays, past balances and time of service payments.
- Maintain business inventory such as checking supplies, scheduling equipment and maintenance repairs.
- Answer all phone calls promptly in a professional and courteous manner.
- Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations.
- Schedule appointments between doctors and patients.
- Ensure that product levels are adequate and orders are made in appropriate time.
- Obtain medical records from other providers and release medical documents when all requirements have been met.
- Maintain waiting room housekeeping, supplies and organization.
Patient Concierge Requirements:
- 1 year of experience at a healthcare facility in a Medical Receptionist role (essential).
- Work effectively on a computer (good computer skills). Working knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to adapt to EMR (Mod Med) quickly.
- Ability to properly utilize office equipment, including multi-line phones, computers and copy, fax and credit card machines, and other basic office equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multi-task. Strong organizational, administrative and planning skills. Excellent documentation, communication and computer skills. Passionate about healthcare excellence.
