As our Medical Records Specialist you will be responsible for the handling of medical record orders, sending and receiving incoming electronic faxes, scanning documents, and uploading files into the electronic medical records system: "KanTime".
Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties and responsibilities of the Medical Records Team in accordance with the Department’s Standard Operating Procedures.
- Compiles and distributes reports for medical records staff.
- Follow up on failed faxes and maintain accurate data in Physicians’ profiles.
- Communicates professionally with all departments to resolve outstanding orders.
- Oversee the processing of medical records request timely and in accordance with Pinnacle Home Care Procedures.
- Responds to all inquiries with a resolution to concerns and or discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other Central Operations Teams as well as with Leadership to identify, document, and report gaps in the process(es), and contribute to proposing/creating solutions.
- Track both individual and Team performance metrics, daily.
- Responsible for developing and sustaining a team environment that maintains motivation to meet both individual and Team objectives/goals.
- Oversees Medical Records processing and ensures Standard Operating Procedures are being followed.
- Problem Resolution: First response for escalations from the field operations and medical records team.
- Runs and distributes reports demonstrating team performance daily, weekly, and monthly to Supervisor.
- Demonstrates, supports, and adheres to company values as an intrinsic part of the team’s daily collaboration efforts: Beyond Expectation, Attitude, Integrity, Culture of Discipline, and Appreciation.
- Identify trends, and opportunities, and report data to the direct supervisor the same day.
- Protects the confidentiality of patient and organization information through effective controls and direct supervision of operations.
Skills:
- Ability to market and deal tactfully with customers and the community.
- Ability to deal effectively with high levels of stress.
- Demonstrates excellent observation, organization, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Computers, Microsoft, EMR, and Technology
- Knowledge of business management, governmental regulations, and ACHC standards.
- This position requires that the employee is willing and able to meet the physical requirements as necessary.
