Eagle Global Scientific, LLC is partnering with the CDC and is seeking a Microbiologist III. NCIRD (Coronavirus and Other Respiratory Viruses CORVD, proposed, formerly DVD/RVB) requires support services to fulfill its mission, goals and objectives related to the prevention of disease, disability, and death from viral diseases of the respiratory system. The purpose of this IDIQ Task Order is to provide professional, technical, scientific, epidemiological and public health support. Services will primarily be performed domestically. The contractor will provide a ready source of management and technical expertise in the following areas: public health, administrative, financial, scientific, medical and project management. These areas of support are often needed as a result of internal decisions and external directives producing short deadlines for implementation. To meet CDC’s mission, the management and technical services must provide structured improvements to the deliverance and performance of public health.

The contractor, as an independent organization and not an agent of the Government, shall furnish all materials, trained personnel, facilities, support and management necessary to provide services as set forth below in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and individual task orders requirements. Services may be provided on or off site.

Requirements: Must have experience in whole genome sequencing.

Duties to be performed:
1. Develop and evaluate new methodologies for detection of serum antibodies directed against SARS CoV-2 (COVID-19)
2. Perform accurate case identification
3. Perform advanced laboratory testing includes confirmation and relatedness
4. Perform testing to evaluate the changing epidemiology of disease
5. Provide regulatory compliance support
6. Draft manuscripts to be submitted to peer reviewed journals
7. Implement Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and protocols;
8. Standardize protocols and reports across division activities;
9. Study requirements, resources, equipment and supply needs as related to QMS and CLIA;
10. Assist in implementing CDC’s Specimen Management policy
11. Prepare written documents, reports, and analyses of various scientific projects and programs related to QMS or CLIA
12. Prepare manuscripts as related to the work
13. Prepare presentations as related to the work
14. Participate in laboratory group meetings to discuss research findings
15. Perform sero detection assays to detect antibodies directed against COVID 19
16. Evaluate pseudovirus neutralization assays against COVID 19
17. Participate in burden of disease studies of respiratory virus outbreaks, sporadic cases and birth cohorts
18. Lead studies to evaluate novel diagnostic platforms for the detection of respiratory viruses; and
19. Perform all tasks in accordance with CDCs biosafety policies and quality management policies
20. Evaluate serological detection of respiratory virus specific antibodies and determine their sensitivity
21. Serve as lead or co-author on output from projects and studies leading to scientific publications and presentations at scientific meetings
