The team of creative and cultural strategists is involved at every stage of the product development and go-to-market life cycle, with methodologies and deliverables taking many different forms and formats. Responsible for monitoring, interpreting, contextualizing, and activating culture, as it happens. As such, success in this role requires a strong grasp of data and signals; the ability to internalize and apply research and strategic frameworks; and, strong intuition and abstract thinking. Day-to-day stakeholders include marketing managers, data analysts, UX researchers, product managers, content strategists, and policy managers. The role is 100% remote to these locations: Denver, CO, New York, NY, Houston, TX, Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco, CA.
What You’ll Do:
Improve how the company and its products spark, maintain and deepen relationships by employing mixed methodologies to understand the needs and motivations of our users, their product experience journey, and the roadblocks they encounter, and distilling findings in a way that drives effective marketing strategies and product innovation
Infuse cultural intelligence into the product roadmap and business goals through collaboration with senior leaders in UX, Product, Marketing, Decision Science, and Engineering, and by supporting the needs of their teams
Elevate the role of cultural intelligence in the product development process through the application and refinement of frameworks
Translate business problems into research objectives and integrate cross-functional questions/needs into all research to ensure insights are relevant and actionable across teams
Partner with researchers across Marketing and Product research to drive or complement research initiatives
Identify areas of opportunity in both product areas and processes, and articulate creative and iterative solutions using data and research
Raise the floor of cultural IQ across the company through generating, presenting, and evangelizing findings in creative and compelling ways
Ensure the deliverables are sharp, actionable, and internalized by partners through coaching and mentoring a high-performing team of cultural strategists and analysts
Must-Haves:
8-10 years experience in UX Research, Product Marketing, Creative Strategy, Marketing Research, or related fields
Ability to influence the decision-making of internal teams and leadership through clear communication and actionable recommendations
A demonstrated history of operating independently and with a diversity of stakeholders, and tracking and prioritizing multiple work streams simultaneously
A track record of critical thinking, especially as it relates to monitoring, analyzing, and synthesizing findings for specific audiences
An advanced toolkit for collaboration — the ability to understand and internalize the needs and challenges of partner teams, look for efficiencies in workflows and programs across team needs, and continually iterate and improve processes and deliverables based on ongoing feedback
The ability to deliver insights and strategy within tight time and resources constraints, through the application of resourceful, innovative, and/or imaginative approaches to problem-solving
Empathetic culture builder, who shares with and learns from others in equal measure, and values the ways in which diversity of perspective enriches processes and outcomes
Experience in influencing strategy in a matrixed organization.
A passion for the company's suite of technologies, a personal interest in internet communities and culture, and familiarity with and interest in popular culture more broadly
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a Human Behavior related field, such as Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Communication, Information Science, Media studies, Computer Science, or Economics
Hours & Location:
M-F, 40 hours/week. This role will be 100% remote.
