Core Responsibilities

• Utilize company work order management software to complete Plumbing work orders at all Birgo properties in the Greater Buffalo area
• Plumbing
• Maintain and repair general plumbing components, such as, traps, supply lines, backflows, sewage lines, shower and tub components, etc.
• Install new plumbing components when needed, such as, hot water tanks, copper and pex runs/fittings, schedule 40 piping, ABS piping, backflows, tubs, sinks, faucets, shut off valves, etc
• Maintain sewage line integrity with routine and reactive backup and and clog maintenance

• HVAC
• Troubleshoot, repair, or install residential and commercial HVAC and ventilation systems to include traditional split, mini split, and hybrid split systems
• Repair, replace, or calibrate controls, thermostats, switches, fuses and electrical wiring related to HVAC systems

• Perform routine maintenance on HVAC and plumbing systems
• Maintain company vehicle and equipment at all times
• If assigned, oversee large scale construction work in alignment with designated trade in support of the Maintenance Manager
• Provide on-the-job training for maintenance staff
• Other projects as assigned to help Birgo improve lives through real estate

Successful Candidate Profile
Work Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds without assistance
• Must be able to work in confined spaces as well as ascend and descend ladders and staircases
• Must be comfortable working around unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.

Skills & Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of HVAC and plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
• Advanced knowledge of thermometers, pressure gauges, and other testing devices
• Advanced knowledge of HVAC and plumbing safety practices
• High school diploma or GED
• At least 5 years of HVAC experience
• At least 5 years of plumbing experience
• Possession of a state-issued Journeyman license in HVAC preferred
• Possession of EPA Universal Certification
• Have and maintain a clean driving record
