SDL is seeking experienced and organized systems engineers to support Department of Defense (DoD) programs. The systems engineering team is responsible for the architecture, technical trades, risk tracking, requirements tracking, and the technical progress and execution of the programs. They must have the ability to understand the customer’s vision and work with the team to translate into a technical solution, work with program management to ensure technical requirements and performance are achieved, support interactions with customers, and provide technical support to related proposal efforts. On this long-term project, a systems engineering team will be modeling a major subsystem and then developing models for required simulators and test subsystems. This team will also participate in creating a digital twin (or digital engineering environment) of the subsystem and its support equipment. Cyber will be an important aspect of this project.

Required Qualifications:

• B.S. degree in a related technical field (e.g., systems engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering)
• A minimum of one year of experience in a systems engineering role
• Experience with management of requirements, interfaces, configurations, and risks
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to present clearly and succinctly to customers
• Must be a US citizen and have or be able to obtain a DoD security clearance
• Must be able to travel

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant systems engineering or advanced degree(s) in a related field
• Familiarity with DoD missile or munitions requirements and subsystems design
• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler
• Familiar with Object Oriented Systems Engineering Method (OOSEM)
• Experience with proposal development for DoD opportunities
• Experience with hardware development and testing
• Understanding of air and space environments
• Understanding of risks and risk mitigations for aeronautical platforms and systems
• Understanding of Cyber
