Ruston Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ruston, Louisiana is actively seeking a diligent Multi-Facility Registered Dietitian to Function as the Facility Consultant Dietician under the direction of the Executive Director. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MULTI-FACILITY REGISTERED DIETITIAN
As the Multi-Facility Registered Dietitian you will -
- Verify and communicate weight loss standard of care to the Executive Director.
- Communicate and update the Executive Director on the status of Food & Nutrition Services department; seek assistance or guidance as needed, and inform Executive Director of progress of special programs and noteworthy events.
- Complete documentation on high risk residents monthly.
- Participate in Facility weight and wound meeting.
- Assist the Director of Food & Nutrition Services in effective cost management.
- Complete nutritional assessments for new admissions, annual nutritional assessments and significant change nutritional assessments.
- Review diet history and medical record for pertinent nutritional information, record necessary information, and notifies food service of likes / dislikes, beverage preferences, any food allergies and diabetic meal pattern if needed.
- Assist the Executive Director when requested in hiring and training of Facility Director of Food & Nutrition Services.
MULTI-FACILITY DIETITIAN QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a qualified dietician or other clinically qualified nutrition professional either fulltime, part-time or on a consultant basis. A qualified dietician or other clinically qualified nutrition professional is one who -
- Holds a bachelor’s or higher degree granted by a regionally accredited college or university in the United States (or an equivalent foreign degree) with HISTORY: (A) 8/2012 (B) 11/2016 completion of the academic requirements of a program in nutrition or dietetics accredited by an appropriate national accreditation organization recognized for this purpose.
- Has completed at least 900 hours of supervised dietetics practice under the supervision of a registered dietician or nutrition professional.
- Is licensed or certified as a dietician or nutrition professional by the State in which the services are performed. In a state that does not provide for licensure or certification, the individual will be deemed to have met this requirement if he or she is recognized as a “registered dietician” by the Commission on Dietetic Registration or its successor organization.
- For dieticians hired or contracted with prior to November 28, 2016, meets these requirements no later than 5 years after November 28, 2016 or as required by state law.
