Nanny/Family Assistant for 7 month old boy
Job description
Job Description:
A dual physician household is looking for a prompt and reliable nanny with flexibility for a changing schedule.
They would like a warm and energetic nanny who will interact with their 7-month old son. He loves to explore the world around him and they want someone who can keep up with him.
They would love a long term nanny that will become part of their family.
When the baby is awake, your primary focus will be caring for him. During times when he is napping, we ask that all bottles and pump parts be cleaned, the baby’s laundry washed and folded, changing stations be stocked as well a diaper pail trash taken to the cans in the garage, and dishwasher loaded or unloaded.
On days where I am home with him but we have additional hours that week, we may ask the nanny to drop off returns (UPS/USPS/FedEX), laundry, or meal prep/cooking in addition to baby maintenance tasks above.
There may be some weeks when we only need 3-5 hours of child care that day so the tasks above may be combined for three 8 hour days.
Must be a non-smoker.
Must have reliable transportation.
This job is NOT open to someone who would bring their child with them.
About the child:
He loves to explore the world. Everything is new and amazing to him.
He loves to be outside and laughs uncontrollable at our dog.
He enjoys Kindermusik class with other babies and seems to interact well.
He loves to snuggle, he is a reliable sleeper.
He will certainly tell you when he is hungry or tired but once his needs are met he easily settles and rarely cries.
Job requirements:
Minimum of 4 years nanny experience, experience with infants prefered.
The nanny must pass a background check and drug test.
This job requires that you are up to date on the following vaccines:
Covid
Flu
Tdap
Schedule:
They would like to start with a guaranteed 25 hours/ week spread between Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.
Usually ranging from 6a-4p.
Some weeks they will not need that many hours of childcare and would expect more household managerial duties on days when mom is home with the baby.
Some weeks they may use those full number of hours in 2 days (if mom works two 12 hour shifts) and the third day would either be additional hours or the option to have it off if we've reached the guaranteed hours.
Mom receives her schedule 1-2 months in advance and would give the nanny their schedule at that time.
There may be some nights and weekends they would ask for help if the nanny is available which is of course paid and would be in addition to the guaranteed 25 hours over those 3 days.
If we find our unicorn nanny who becomes a member of the family and is flexible and reliable, we are open to increasing these hours to full time as well.
Benefits and Pay:
$25+, depends on experience.
Will pay via a payroll company.
2 weeks of PTO for vacation (at 25 hours/week paid).
3 paid personal/sick days for the first six months of employment with an additional 3 days that accrue for each additional six months employed.
If they were to move to full time each of these benefits would increase.
The family is also offering an additional $150 monthly stipend for health insurance.
The family is offering 4 paid holidays, and will pay time and a half if you need to work on one of these holidays.
Mileage reimbursement.
Values
This family values above all, kindness. They continually work to raise a conscientious, compassionate, and kind son. They also value hard work and reliability. Both mom and dad are doctors and these have been huge parts of their lives. They value fairness and feel even as a baby he is a small human and deserves fair explanations as to why or why not we can do something.
They are warm, close knit, and also readily add close friends to the family. They hope to make anyone in their space feel welcome.
Parenting style:
They are warm and calm parents who believe in letting their child explore the world and function to allow him to do so safely.
They encourage exploration and learning about everything (even when that includes a spatula or a box).
They believe in baby-led weaning and empowering the child with independence.
Mom is laid back as a parent, she doesn’t follow a strict schedule because she likes the flexibility to allow the baby to explore outside the home. She believes in research and evidence based parenting for things such as sleep and baby-led weaning. Dad is fun and very laid back. He loves spending time with his family.
