Job description

The .NET C# Engineer is responsible for the building & configuration of software solutions. You will ensure software is delivered to high quality standards by collaborating with the agile team members and by leveraging unit testing and continuous integration. You will participate in the estimation of work required to deliver software features.

The Job

You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of new and existing features for the existing portfolio of applications for a business area. Responsible for communication & collaboration with key stakeholders in the delivery of features. Design, codes, configures, unit tests, maintains & documents software deliverables using agreed upon standards/ tools.

Participates in sizing & estimation activities within the agile team. Participate in daily standups. Participate in code reviews/sprint retrospectives; ensuring ideas for team continuous improvement are communicated so that the overall process &team can improve.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring the quality of existing & new features through both manual & automated testing and use of continuous integration techniques, where practical. Show an interest in software architectures and look to design solutions in alignment with architecture & standards. Participate in Proof Of Concept work & prototyping when necessary. Work with Business Analysts to confirm understanding of business reqs relating to features to be delivered and to help the Business Analyst define requirements that can be delivered from a tech perspective. Work in an innovation culture in the team by continuous improvement of deliveries and participates. Evaluate new processes & tech that can be applied to future feature delivery.

Experience

Degree in Computer Science or related. 2+ years experience building and supporting web application and middleware solutions with specific focus on the .net stack and C#. Strong knowledge of the .Net server side development but knowledge of and interest in client side development is highly desirable

Experience and focus on ASP.NET and MVC architecture Entity Framework, code first and contract first, Bootstrap, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WCF, Web API, REST Services and RDBMS technologies but specifically SQL. Experience writing unit tests but also have good understand of automated testing and test frameworks.

Knowledge of Agile Development Methodologies. Experience of DevOps tooling specifically git, Jenkins, TFS. Innovative approach to problem solving. Strong focus on quality delivery. Good team player.

Candidates Must be eligible to work in Ireland/EU.

Permanent full time position. Based in Carlow. Remote work three days a week available.
