Responsibilities:
SPA is hiring a Network Engineer to provide design, implementation, monitoring, and management support of local and wide area networks to ensure maximum uptime for users and mission. This position is aligned with the Operations Research and Cyber Analysis (ORCA) division and embedded at a client site. The role will include designing secure system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of a network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert, providing technical solutions to meet the requirements of the company and clients.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot and support network equipment including virtual and physical routers, switches, firewalls
- Configure firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
- Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
- Accurately document instances of network equipment or component failure, repair, installation, and removal
- Investigating faults in the network, perform analysis, diagnose, and resolution of complex network problems, and recommend and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate services, troubleshooting, and resolutions with 3rd party transport providers
- Perform capacity analysis and planning to ensure growing traffic demand
- Coordinate and execute scheduled upgrades
- Reporting network status to key stakeholders
- Accurately document and maintain ATO documentation including standard operating procedure development, artifact creation, submission of artifacts to ISSM and/or government representatives
- Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for monitoring and responding to Cybersecurity continuous monitoring requirements (SIEM, Log review, validation of security controls, etc
- Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring network operations
- Interface with third-party support and equipment vendors as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 8-10 years directly related experience
- Experience with routing, switching, and firewall configuration in multi-vendor environment (i.e. Dell, Cisco, Juniper)
- Experience in WAN, LAN, and Storage architecture and environments
- Problem solving and time management capabilities
