The Cybersecurity & Technology Controls group at JPMorgan Chase aligns the firm's cybersecurity, access management, controls and resiliency teams. The group proactively and strategically partners with all lines of business and functions to enable them to design, adopt and integrate appropriate controls; deliver processes and solutions efficiently and consistently; and drive automation of controls. The group's number one priority is to enable the business by keeping the firm safe, stable and resilient.
High Risk Roles (HRR) are sensitive roles within the technology organization that require high assurance of the integrity of staff by virtue of 1) sensitive cybersecurity and technology functions they perform within systems or 2) information they receive regarding sensitive cybersecurity or technology matters. Users in these roles are subject to enhanced pre-hire screening which includes both criminal and credit background checks (as allowed by law). The enhanced screening will need to be successfully completed prior to commencing employment or assignment.

Responsibilities shall include:
- Work with various JPMC technology teams to provide architectural and strategic recommendations for cyber security and core network product and engineering teams.
- Provide technology and security consulting for security and network-related efforts across core and line of business technology teams.
- Work as part of teams across JPMC to help define end-to-end project requirements - Security, technical and business.
- Participate in projects, ensuring that security and other requirements are met during the planning and execution phase
- Help develop JPMC standards, policies and procedures for various technologies used across the bank.
- Review and influence new and evolving design, architecture, standard, and methods for operating services and systems
- Perform data analysis using enterprise tools (i.e. Splunk) and through custom scripts.
- Perform proof-of-concepts for new solutions and technologies at the bank.
- Drive technical innovation and efficiency in infrastructure operations via automation - for example automated server build processes
- Create processes that enhance operational workflow and provide positive customer impact
- Design systems management solutions using automation and self-repair rather than relying on alarming and human intervention
Preferred skill sets
- Excellent documentation and communication skills - needs to be able to clearly articulate complex network and security concepts and solutions to audiences of varying technical expertise.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills - desire to solve complex problems at scale
- 10+ years of network / security engineering with progressive responsibilities
- Expert-level expertise in at least two of the following technologies:
- Proxy, Web Application Firewall (WAF), DDOS, firewalls, load balancers, Network Access Control (NAC), wireless, L2/3 networking, BGP, SDN, Remote Access, SAS provider integration and management (i.e. Akamai, Cloudflare, O365, etc.).
- Development skills in at least one language (Python preferred). Needs to be able to code, leverage APIs, and understand security, authentication and data structures.
- Experience with IT governance -rule management, approval workflows, etc.
- Knowledge and experience designing and building large scale and high availability systems
- Understanding of how commodity servers, operating systems and networks function, perform and scale
- Expertise in Agile and can work with at least one of the common frameworks
- Significant experience in cloud computing in AWS and/or GCP.
- Experience with large financial service companies is a significant plus.
