SUMMARY
The Neurodiagnostic Technologist II prepares patients for and conducts various neurodiagnostic procedures. This position collects patient information pertinent to the interpretation of the tests and determines proper procedures for testing. The position performs age-appropriate activities and utilizes a variety of neurodiagnostic equipment such as electroencephalograms (EEG), Evoked Potentials, Epilepsy Monitoring Unit operations and other monitoring devices.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates Degree in Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Technology from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited END program or equivalent. A combination of experience and education may be used to meet the degree requirement; however, the work experience years used to qualify for the degree requirement cannot be used to meet the work requirement.
- One (1) year clinical EEG experience is required.
Successfully complete ABRET certification within one (1) year of employment date.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certified by the American Heart Association is required.
Eligible for registration by the American Board of Registration of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET) in EEG(R. EEG T) is required.
Successfully complete ABRET certification withinone (1) year of employment date.
