This is a part-time 50% FTE position. Located in Knoxville, TN.
JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Nurse Practitioner works closely with OB/GYN resident physicians, faculty, and other nurse practitioners and reports to the Clinical Director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides routine obstetrical, well-woman, and low risk gynecological care for patients using established protocols under the indirect supervision of attending faculty physicians.
- Evaluates and treats disease processes.
- Prescribes and /or issues drugs and therapies as described in protocols and by TCA 63-7-115.
- Uses electronic medical records system to maintain patient records.
- Consults with faculty physicians on areas of concern for patient care.
- Collaborates with resident physicians and faculty to promote best practices.
- Maintains a patient panel and is responsible for evaluation of tests and reports.
- Refers patients to residents per protocol.
- Maintains current licensures, certification, and necessary liability insurance
- Performs other duties as necessary.
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Nursing (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years primary care experience required. GYN skills essential; computer skills essential for use of electronic medical record. Occupational Health experience preferred, but not required.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current and valid Tennessee license from the State Board of Nursing for Advanced Nursing Practice; Meet all state requirements and obtain valid Prescriptive Authority including a DEA certificate; Officially accredited to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) by AANP or ANCC (APN License preferred). (COPY OF LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED)
WORK SCHEDULE: This position occasionally works evenings and weekends
