Orlando Health-Health Central Hospital is looking for a Nursing Operations Manager for our Progressive Care Unit. Come be a part of our award-winning team!

Located in Ocoee about 11 miles west of the downtown Orlando Health campus, the 212-bed Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital provides comprehensive medical and surgical acute care for the families of west Orange County communities. The hospital has earned Spine Surgery, Joint Replacement and Primary Stroke certification from The Joint Commission. Also located on the expanded Orlando Health – Health Central campus is a 30,000-square-foot comprehensive cancer center with clinical programs and services for patients and families. The cancer center became the only facility in Central Florida, and only the sixth in the nation, to offer MRIdian® therapy, which allows for more precise treatment of cancer tumors through real-time magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) during radiation beam therapy. The Orlando Health Center for Rehabilitation, which includes a 60-bed rehabilitation unit, a 40-bed Alzheimer’s unit, a 10-bed hospice unit and outpatient rehabilitation services, also is located at the Orlando Health – Health Central campus. The hospital also provides services at the Orlando Health Emergency Room and Medical Pavilion – Horizon West in nearby Winter Garden

Position Summary: Our Progressive Care Unit is a 19-bed multi-system stepdown unit that provides complex patient care to a wide variety of medical, surgical, and cardiac patient populations requiring telemetry and frequent observation. Great unit for those that enjoy a fast-paced environment and want to develop critical thinking and time management skills for a career path in critical care nursing.
This position provides leadership & operational oversight for an inpatient direct care unit or units. Accountable for achievement of department and hospital goals in concert with other hospital and medical staff leadership.

Education/Training

Graduate of an approved school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with Graduate degree in Business or health-related field preferred.

Licensure/Certification

• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• National leadership board certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) within 2 years.

Experience Two (2) years as a registered nurse in an acute care setting and one (1) year leadership experience.

Essential Functions Evaluates the environment and makes recommendations to ensure delivery of quality service, optimal patient flow and comfort, safety, and compliance with various standards of care, regulatory/governing bodies (e.g., OSHA, JCAHO), infection control, and risk management.

Plans, leads, organizes, directs, & evaluates the delivery of patient care to achieve sustained outcomes.

Facilitates a healthy environment that promotes patient and team member safety, high reliability of processes and quality outcomes.

Embraces workplace diversity and participates in nursing organizational policy formulation and decision-making.

Analyzes, develops, and maintains an effective and efficient nursing delivery model that reflects patient and family needs, ultimately achieving desired outcomes.

Responsible for management of team members including recruitment, development, mentorship, retention, supervision, evaluation, and productivity.

Develops and manages unit/department budget and responds in a cost-effective manner to changing patient and team member requirements.
