GENERAL FUNCTION
The Sports Marketing Esports Manager ensures fluid execution of sports marketing strategy and plan: athlete programs and related activities, events and content management, seeding in the fulfilment of brand goals and objectives, within budgetary guidelines. The Esports Manager leverages strengths in athlete relations and management to establish productive and long-term relationships with athletes, leagues, teams, event partners, and federations. Ensuring that Oakley is a part of the support network that will lead our brand and athletes to success, the individual’s contributions directly affect the purpose and drive of Oakley. This position works closely with the Sports Marketing head of Esports and Gaming to define our strategy and manage the go-to-market process between products, athletes and partners.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works with Sr. Sports Mktg Esports Manager to create specific sport strategies and activation plans
  • Ensures alignment with the Oakley Global brand vision
  • Implements sport strategy globally for esports and gaming vertical; examples include partnerships, support for maintenance and management of social media channels, and product seeding
  • Supports the Sport portfolio, including athletes, events, federations and partnerships
  • Works with regional field marketing teams in relation to athletes and events
  • Manages relationships, provides touchpoint between Global SM team and internal stakeholders for sport vertical
  • Integrates sports seamlessly across Digital, PR, advertising, media and brand experiences
  • Ensures that sports activities, content, strategy and promotion drive ROI for cross-functional objectives, including Sales/Commercial, media and digital teams
  • Leverages relationships with Marketing leadership, Vision Performance Lab (VPL), and R&D to validate products and identify potential opportunities
  • Drives the operations for seeding and servicing of athletes in the vertical and communicates activation plans and briefing to those relevant athletes.
  • Identifies influential athletes and industry leaders to represent Oakley to the vertical lead
  • Negotiates, develops, and manages contracts with athletes and influencers representing Oakley, in collaboration with the Sr. Manager
  • Develops and manages relationships within the sports industry, media, commentators, cameramen and photographers to enhance Oakley sports marketing efforts within that category


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, sports, gaming or related
  • 5+ years field Sports Marketing field experience
  • Experience working in the industry with expertise in gaming, Esports and the relevant platforms
  • Marketing, people, and project management experience within the industry
  • Effective communication, presentation and teamwork skills
  • Writing and editing skills
  • Proficiency in keynote, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent diplomacy and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, deadline oriented environments

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Marketing or communications Degree
  • Experience managing athlete contracts and relationships

Pay Range: $88,722.00 - $133530

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package Benefits/Incentive Information including health benefits, PTO, 401K, paid family leave, tuition reimbursement, and eyewear discounts.
