This announcement is for an immediate hiring need with the Department of Administration / General Services located in Kanawha County. HOW TO APPLY :

THE POSITION :
Under general supervision, performs advanced level clerical tasks of a complicated nature involving interpretation and application of policies and practices. Will handle responsibilities of the General Services Division Service Desk, entering and assigning service requests into the GSD Services Desk SharePoint System. Will analyze invoices, forms, reports and documents for accuracy and will initiate correction of errors. Will type a variety of documents from verbal instruction, written or voice recorded dictation. Will screen calls, take messages and give information to the caller regarding services and procedures of the General Services Division. Receives, sorts and distributes incoming mail. Files records and reports. May run reports from a database and analyze data for management. Will serve as backup to the division administrative secretary and will provide administrative and clerical support to the capitol events coordinator. Will provide assistance and backup to other business unit sections in paying for and providing goods and services. As a condition of employment, an inquiry into job-related information will be completed which may include, but is not limited to, criminal records, abuse registry records, driving records, employment history, and education and training. Failing to cooperate with this process, providing false or incomplete information, or discovery of disqualifying information will result in denial of or dismissal from employment or denial of transfer irrespective of when discovered.

Minimum Qualifications

Training: Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent.

Experience: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience performing routine office work.

Substitution: College hours, related business school, or vocational training may be substituted through an established formula for the required experience.
