Operating Room (OR) Technician

Assists perioperative nurses and anesthesia care providers with patient care and performs delegated patient care procedures in Surgical Services. Checks and restocks supplies; move medical equipment; may prepare equipment for use; and cleans and returns equipment to correct storage locations after use. Performs between case/end-of-case cleaning in the procedure rooms; performs anesthesia turnovers between patients and at end of schedule; and assists in maintaining a clean, safe environment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Required Qualifications:

· Require a high school diploma or equivalent (employees hired prior to 1/1/01 were grandfathered into this position).

· BLS /CPR is required (must be from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross)

Preferred Qualifications:

· Previous health care experience.

· Certification in related healthcare.

· Demonstrated ability to follow written/verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
