Southern Corrugating Division – Operational Excellence and Training Manager

Summary:Technical resource to support continuous improvement needs, fill leadership gaps, cooperate with Operational Excellence Team, and build bench strength.

Optimal Skill Set: Strong corrugator box plant experience, plant manager experience, reliability and maintenance experience, a safety leader, excellent interpersonal skills, appropriate equipment knowledge, process improvement, ability to lead teams, future general manager.

Position Goal:

• Provide on-site leadership in corrugator plants to act as an improvement catalyst, lead Operational Excellence Team initiatives, build sustainable waste improvement programs, provide safety leadership through positive challenge and follow up.
• Support plants with critical leadership openings as the result of turnover or absence.
• A resource to support capital projects in existing plants.
• Increase improvement pace in safety, shrink, labor efficiency, and asset care.

Onboarding Plan:

• 60 days: Initial onboarding and introduction to Pratt and the Southern Corrugators. As soon as possible, spend 1-3 weeks in Valpo, and 1-3 weeks in Wichita.
• Immediate deployment to either Grand Rapids or Springfield to challenge the teams and drive improvement.
• 60-120 days: Start key improvement projects in SCD. Project ideas include; waste team improvements, reliability execution plans, selected plant productivity projects, Safety and 5S work. Continue to learn Pratt Processes and Culture.
• Support maintenance skill training in SCD.
• Begin work on Operator Basic Care program for our plants.
• Rockwall start up exposure.
• Hub and Spoke // Supply Chain Exposure as time permits.

Ongoing Role:

• Further corrugator plant improvements in all operational excellence areas.
• Train and mentor shop floor leaders throughout the division.
• Available for technical support in all areas of the company.
• GM / PM Bench for larger corrugators.
