We are currently looking to recruit a Manager, Operational Excellence Black Belt, Manufacturing EMEA to join our Tullamore Manufacturing Site.
What Operational Excellence contributes to Cardinal Health
The Manager, Black Belt is responsible for leading and/or supporting the initiative execution within the Medical Segment’s Strategy by providing support to multiple Manufacturing sites and stakeholders. The scope of the position is focused within Global Products and Supply Chain (GPSC), specifically supporting the Global Manufacturing segment. This role is responsible for driving change by focusing on customers, employees, and processes resulting in a culture of excellence. Black Belts identify and execute against performance improvement opportunities/initiatives across the enterprise using lean six sigma (LSS) process improvement tools.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Medical Segment’s Manufacturing Operational Excellence initiatives within assigned region. These initiatives include, but not limited to improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
- Applies Operational Excellence and/or Manufacturing knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects
- Implement Manufacturing process blueprints; Evaluate plants against the blueprint execution
- Works on complex projects of large scope within multiple facilities
- Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are innovative and consistent with organization objectives
- Experience with managing and driving operational excellence within the concepts of the perfect manufacturing plants
- Works on complex projects of large scope within multiple regions
- Possesses Black Belt / Green Belt certification and pursues/obtains Black Belt certification, preferred
- Completes work independently; receives general guidance on new projects and looks to create new projects
- Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues
What is expected of you and others at this level
- Demonstrates understanding and participates in Cardinal Health's Manufacturing business strategy goals and broad cross-functional improvement opportunities including end to end processes throughout the segment
- Collaborate with GMSC Manufacturing leaders and their teams to share successes, replicate best practices both from within and outside of Cardinal Health and accountable to ensure organization-wide achievement of annual manufacturing goals
- Support, influence and align GMSC’s Manufacturing & Operational Excellence strategic direction within the region/sites
- Develop and monitor the effectiveness of management routines and metrics; recommend and implement changes as needed to ensure business objectives are met
- Be the Operational Excellence resources that develops initiatives to deliver direct cost savings for the site or multiple sites
- Collaborates with functional leads in the identification, discussion and prioritization of local, strategic improvement strategies
- Drive Operational Excellence activity and accountability across area of responsibility for optimal results
- Ensures individual alignment with site performance metrics and savings goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s and Advanced Degree in a technical field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in related field, preferred
- Possesses Green Belt certification and pursues/obtains Black Belt certification, preferred
- Prior supervisory experience, preferred
- Experience working in or supporting a complex manufacturing facility(s)
- Experience with managing and driving operational excellence within the concepts of the perfect manufacturing plants
- 15 - 25% travel required
